Volunteering Your Time and Skills

Volunteers are needed in every facet of our work. Most programs allow for great flexibility.

Helping Out Painting

Louie's Place: Monday - Friday 2-5:30 p.m. Come once a week for a year, one week a month or once for a special project. Help with homework, do arts & crafts, teach cooking classes, coach baseball, play piano or read to children.

Food: Tuesday 12 -6 p.m. Set up food for client choice, walk clients around to assist in selection.
Friday 9 a.m. - noon Unload food truck, carry heavy boxes, sort food, distribute bread

Helping Out Cooking

ESL: Monday evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Tutor 2 - 4 adults learning English. Full training and supervision provided. All you need is an understanding of English, patience and a desire to aid those struggling to improve their lives.

Mailings: Six to eight times a year a bulk mailing goes out from Neighborhood Ministries. We need volunteers to come in for a few hours each time to help with folding, labeling and sealing.

Computers: We receive bits and pieces of computers from many sources if you have some time to come in and put the pieces together in the best way, it would be greatly appreciated.

Fix it- "ness" : We often have hinges hanging or leaky faucets. Can you fix things? We probably have something broken.
