Reflecting God’s love and in response to our neighborhood’s diverse needs, South Providence Neighborhood Ministries provides services and opportunities that encourage self-worth and build a safe and just community of caring, respect and cooperation.

Highlights

Louie’s Place youth programs licensed by RI Dept. Children, Youth & Families.

Louie’s Place expanded to full days for April vacation and summer programs.

69% of after school program participants achieved “B” average or better.

Health program reclaimed Amos Earley Park for neighborhood residents with clean-up and celebration attended by Mayor Cicciline on April 17th.

“Southside Physical Activity Directory” compiled and printed in four languages, also posted on web site www.spnm.org.

Barbara Brush, Doris Randall and Denise Thompson recognized by Gov. Carcieri as “Unsung Heroes.”

Denise Thompson wins “Volunteer of the Month” award from Volunteer Center of RI.

Marguerite Thomas and MetLife Auto & Home honored at 7th Annual Dinner.

Annual Fund Drive moved to fall and first Major Donor Campaign held.

Direct Services: Emergency food, housing and utility help, infant needs, referrals, etc.

Louie’s Place for Children & Youth: After school & summer, tutoring, problem solving skills, leadership development, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Summer Camperships

Neighborhood Health Promotion Center/ Broad Street Path to Health: Education, screenings, advocacy & referrals

English as a Second Language, Sewing
